Izidiro Duarte is based in South Africa, where his son was born, but originated from Portugal and grew up in Mozambique. Having worked as an illustrator for a decade in Europe, Duarte never lost his love fo African imagery and promptly returned to Africa in 1970 to grace us with his depictions of Africa as he knew it, and Africa as it evolves. His Signature style of portraying the Human Figure and the every changing methods of depicting the environments around those figures not only shows the maleability of his talent, but demonstrates the way in which the Human form can never quite grasp the nature of the world around it. Alternatively, Mr. Duarte could just love trying new stuff.
